About

I'm Chris Tilbury — a programme manager and PMO director based in London. For more than 25 years I've been brought in to deliver the programmes that matter most and worry people the most: the complex, the politically sensitive, and the ones that have started to wobble. My job, more often than not, is to bring calm to the chaos — to find the plan inside the mess, get the right people pointing the same way, and quietly drive things to done.

Most recently that's meant cloud migrations and M365/Azure transformations for the NHS, cyber security and AI programmes, and large systems builds for UK government bodies. Earlier in my career I led anti-money-laundering and regulatory programmes in investment banking, ran global project offices, and co-founded a small software consultancy. The common thread is delivery under pressure, and a stubborn belief that good governance should make things easier, not harder.

Before all of that I read Computing Science and then, somewhat improbably, an MSc in Astrophysics at Imperial. I still think the universe is the most interesting programme anyone ever shipped.

This website is deliberately simple: a place to keep my CV, and a corner for pontifications — the occasional longer thought on delivery, technology, and whatever else is rattling around. If you'd like to get in touch, email is the surest route.
